ASSESSMENT OF THE MONO-SPECIALIZATION LEVEL IMPACT ON THE SINGLE-INDUSTRY TOWN’ COMPETITIVENESS

Abstract

Purpose. To assess the mono-specialization level impact on the single-industry town’ competitiveness. Methods. Using the author's techniques author assessed the level of competitiveness and single-industry towns sample of Central Federal District in 2013. By means of regression analysis, the interrelation between competitiveness and the mono-specialization level of single-industry town was defined. Results. Mono-specialization level is inversely proportional to the level of single-industry competitiveness (R2 0,6), the regression equation Y = 1.4 0.02 x. The analysis confirms the hypothesis influence of the Mono-specialization level impact on the the single-industry towns’ competitiveness. Scientific novelty. Scientific novelty lies in determining the the mono-specialization level impact on the level of single-industry towns’ competitiveness that can become part of methodological tools for the development of single-industry towns’ socio-economic development.
