Purpose. On the basis of a retrospective analysis, the periodization of the development of the settlement of Teploozersk in the Jewish Autonomous Oblast (JAO) is proposed. Periodization is based on the dynamics of production indicators of the city-forming enterprise (Thermal Cement Plant). Identify the main factors that inhibit the development of this locality. Methods. The results of the study are based on an analysis of official statistics, archival materials, including photographs and data obtained at school No. 18 and in the library of Teploozersk, in the State Archives of the JAO. Results and practical significance. The factors that can affect the quality of life of the population in the settlement Teploozersk. The stages of development of a single-industry town taking into account production indicators of the town-planning enterprise are defined and considered, the main reasons of a depressive state of the considered settlement are defined. For the first time collected and summarized material on the state of the social infrastructure of the village for the entire period under review. It is shown that the prospects for the development of Teploozersk are associated with the expansion of the number of possible places of employment of its population, primarily located outside the village. The implementation of the program of integrated development of this monotown does not imply significant changes in the socio-economic development of the town of Teploozersk.
