SOCIAL PRACTICES OF PARTICIPATION OF THE CITY IN THE LOCAL SELF-GOVERNMENT

Abstract

The purpose is to study the social practices of the participation of the population of the city of Yekaterinburg in the implementation of local government, identify problems and develop practical recommendations for their solution. Methods: analysis of statistical data, questionnaire, focus group, expert interview, content analysis, analysis of official documents, analysis of official sites, observation. Results and practical significance. The article outlines the elements of the theory of the participation of the population in the implementation of local self-government. As applied to the research problems, a complex of existing basic research methods was effectively used, incl. analysis of statistical data, questionnaire, focus group, expert interview, analysis of official documents, observation. The facts describing the level of participation of the population of the city of Yekaterinburg in the implementation of local self-government and the trends of its change are reflected. The problems of the participation of the population of the city of Yekaterinburg in the implementation of local self-government have been revealed. Factors and conditions affecting the level of participation of the population of the city of Yekaterinburg in the implementation of local self-government have been studied. The importance of the research results obtained by the author for practice is confirmed by the fact that: social technologies have been developed aimed at involving the population and youth in participating in the implementation of local self-government: the concept of a youth forum and competition, and a system of practical recommendations for increasing the level of people's participation in the implementation of local government. Scientific novelty. Based on the research carried out by the authors: a methodology for the empirical study of social practices of participation of the city's population in local self-government has been developed and tested, new empirical data have been obtained that characterize the practice of participation of the population of the city of Yekaterinburg in local self-government, and the reasons for the low level of participation of the city's population in local self-government.
