Abstract
Purpose. Studying of modern possibilities and directions of management of city development. Methods. The world and Russian experience of managing urban development as part of a cultural policy has been analyzed. Results. Based on the analysis of world experience, the system review, own conclusions, features of urban development management are presented. Considered and defined values of urban planning, reputation management, media technology, image-making, socially responsible development for this process. Scientific novelty. The scientific novelty lies in exploring the development prospects and proposing new standards for managing urban development through modern technologies
