Requirements for sustainable commercial areas

Abstract

The contribution aims is to research a new field of "Sustainable industrial area", which was developed by us at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern / Germany. While individual companies within the paradigm of sustainable development can introduce the concept of Corporate Social Responsibility, there was commercial areas hitherto no comparable concept. This offer is with this concept, especially for small and medium-sized enterprises, various possibilities of cooperation at. As part of the concept together they can make an important contribution to sustainable development, they could not afford as a single company. First, it's about the theoretical basis for the concept of "Sustainable commercial areas" show. Building on a case study that we have developed within the framework of a research project presented. In the implementation of the case study is about to make a first inventory in the industrial area, which is already done. In a second step then we must decide the management of the industrial area, which measures for the industrial area are particularly relevant.
